Job Description

Under the general direction of the Associate Director, Research Pipeline Programs, the Pipeline Program CDU mSTEM Coordinator will oversee and manage a research-based pipeline program. The position will provide support to Directors and Principal Investigators as related to research projects, pipeline initiatives, and activities for students in grades k-12.

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION:
• Regionally accredited Bachelor’s degree (STEM degree a plus)

EXPERIENCE:
• One (1) to two (2) years of facilitating youth programming with experience working with families, schools, and communities from diverse cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
• Current driver’s license, insurance and vehicle for work-related transportation

TRAVEL:
• Up to 25%

Essential Duties

• Oversee the day to day operations of the CDU mSTEM program and President’s Scholar Program.
• Create and develop surveys to obtain programmatic and demographic data to assess programs.
• Track student progress through pipeline programs into college
• Interface with k-12 students and promote pipeline programs.
• Manage student applications for pipeline programs.
• Coordinate conferences, events and activities that directly impact pipeline programs.
• Develop and manage systems to track student data and attendance at events.
• Coordinate speakers, partnerships and special activities.
• Analyze and communicate feedback from students to Executive and Associate Director and recommend program improvements.
• Oversee and assists with participants screening, training, matching support and closure for students.
• Provide strategic input regarding recruitment and student retention in programs.
• Contribute to quarterly and annual reports.
• Manage pipeline research program, assign students with research mentors and track their progress.
• Assist students in conducting research projects.
• Acts as liaison between the mentors and the students.
• Forms strong collaboration with the students and mentors, including signing written agreements that outline the program parameters and expectations.
• Manage student files and keep the files up to date.
• Coordinates and conducts site visits to ensure that all apprenticeship facilities are adequate and appropriate for pipeline program students.
• Monitors and approves program expenditures ensuring that budget allocations are not overspent.
• Building and updating of website for program promotion and dissemination of applications.
• Assist with the collection of outcome data for progress reports, quarterly reports, annual reports and statistics.
• Manage Qualtrics and other systems utilized by pipeline program administrators.
• Create and enhance effective marketing material to increase participation in pipeline programs.
• Participate and support pipeline activities including orientation, Saturday events, and off-campus field trips.
• Actively participate in the writing and soliciting of grants and other funding opportunities
• Keep current with aspects of all pipeline programs
• Maintain working relationships with High Schools, parents, and local community organizations.
• Ability to write grants, edit correspondence and assist in the grant writing process
• Ability to manage grants and program budgets.
• Review academic needs of students in order to successfully enroll at CDU
• Provide college counseling and recommendations to pipeline participant’s to increase enrollment at CDU
