Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) and DIO/Assistant Dean, the GME Residency Program Coordinator will provide administrative oversight for two or more residency/fellowship programs on all non-didactic issues.

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION:
• Four year college degree (B.A., B.S.)

EXPERIENCE:
• Three years directly related experience in a Residency Program.

Essential Duties

• Coordinate the organization of awards celebrations, graduations, awards banquets and various resident social events. Coordinate scheduling of all ACLS, BLS, fire and safety classes
• Publish a regular house staff newsletter.
• Attend local and national meetings as required by the GME Program Director and outside entities such as ACGME, APDIM, or AAMC.
• Provide back-up support as required by the GME Program Director or DIO/Assistant Dean.
• Develop budget for each residency program and allocate funds within budget to accomplish objectives set forth by the DIO/Assistant Dean. Assist with monitoring budget variances to stay within the NIH guidelines. Monitor budget against variances.
• Plan and implement effective residency program administrative operations and activities. Monitor program performance, evaluations, and examinations, analyze information, and develop performance reports for internal and external sources. Participate in the development and interpretation of departmental policies and procedures.
• Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the program.
• Ensure all administrative assigned tasks including evaluations are completed in a timely manner as directed by the GME Program Director.
• Plan, conduct and supervise small projects or portions of projects.
• Provide public relations advice and service; collect and circulate public relations materials; collect and maintain data on Division history and academic and research progress; answer miscellaneous inquiries about the Division; and assist as required in other public relations activities.
• Maintain and review all previous resident files and electronic data bases.

• The ability to perform highly detailed work with sustained attention and care while providing/obtaining information on numerous inquiries is paramount to success in this position.
