Job Description

Under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Human Resources Data Analyst will develop and implement strategies to edit and update existing databases; correct for errors; duplication; out-of-date entries; and ensure immediate and accurate correspondence and interaction with all databases.

Required Qualifications

• Regionally accredited Bachelor’s degree in statistics, information systems, business administration or related field required.
• One (1) to three (3) years’ experience working with an HRIS system, such as Great Plains, People Admin, Microsoft SQL Server or similar tools.
• One (1) to three (3) years’ of functional experience in a Business Intelligence reporting tool or background with academic and/or business analytics and reporting.

• Demonstrated interpersonal/communication skills with the ability to interact and work effectively with faculty, administration, staff and students in a collegial and multicultural environment.
• Must possess strong attention to detail, and good organizational skills with the ability to ensure accurate work within prescribed timeframes.
• Experience with one or more of the following technical data query and reporting tools including but not limited to Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Share Point.
• Ability to contribute in multiple related areas within the function.
• Expertise in understanding and following project plans including the coordination of multiple resources and activities.
• Ability to interact and effectively communicate with a diverse employee, student population.
• Superior organizational, analytical, time management, multi-tasking and interpersonal skills.

Essential Duties

• Responsible for accurate employee data, elimination of inaccurate employee data, and real time integration of employee data to all relevant employee functions including benefits, payroll, time and attendance, leave tracking, job location, titles, pay, and organizational chart.
• Responsible for the research, design and creation of reports, dashboards and data analysis for the HR business area.
• Analyze exiting information sources and produce reports to assist the decision making of HR to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and grow customer satisfaction.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals technical procedures, and government regulations.
• Ability to write complex reports, business correspondence, and procedure documents.
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or colleagues vendors, management, and auditors.
• Able to work independently and exercise good judgment and discretion in the performance of all work assignments.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize work accordingly to meet deadlines while staying on task with daily assignments.
• Working understanding of databases, table structures and SQL or other data queries.
• Working understanding of qualitative and quantitative data analysis and reporting.
• Experience integrating systems and data.
• Ability to maintain strict level of confidentiality in the handling of proprietary information including assessment results.
• Ability to understand business and system process interdependencies.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Develop reports for executive management, regulatory agencies, audit firms, FOIA requests and compliance assurance; on both a recurring and as-needed basis.
• Assimilate, aggregate and query HR data to provide recommendations based on statistical analysis
• Develop and maintain a University HR data dictionary.
• Monitor data integrity or HR systems and notify appropriate personnel of data impairments.
• Conduct market trend research and benchmarking analysis.
• Analyze vendor performance including price and discount verifications.
• Analyze data to determine potential risk exposure.
• Research industry best practices in data mining and HR legal and regulatory data requirements.

• Performs other related duties as assigned
